Factors influencing heart health and how to take care of our heart

There are certain factors that regulates how our heart functions. Some of these factors that influence the function of our heart are:

Cholesterol levels and blood pressure: high levels of cholesterol increases risks of developing cardiovascular diseases, and even worst it leads to heart attacks and strokes. High blood pressure are even more dangerous leading to the same consequences in addition to angina, vision loss and kidney failure.

The feeling of depression: cardiovascular diseases leads to the feeling of depression in many cases. Studies have revealed that 33% of patients suffering from heart attack ends up having depression. 


By deciding to make smart lifestyle choices, we can protect our heart from life threatening conditions. Making some small changes can have considerable impact on the health of our heart like: 

Healthy diet: eating foods richer in nutrition and eliminating unhealthy fats from our diets can do wonders to our heart and its functioning, by reducing cholesterol and blood pressure and maintaining a healthy weight. Eating more fruits, vegetables and healthy fats and limiting salt and alcohol is the key.

Regular exercises: engaging in some sort of physical activity on a regular basis enhances our mental and physical wellness. 

Quit smoking and stay away from smokers: smoking contributes to the largest factor responsible for cardiovascular diseases along with passive smoking. If you are a smoker quit smoking and if not, avoid smokers as much as possible.
